Sunny Day Umbrellas

This is a great project for Shades Textiles hand dyed rainbow packs. The fabric packs have 8 colors, and kaleidoscope blocks have 8 large triangles! In our sample quilt, we used some lovely "Sunny Day" sky fabric for borders. We were inspired by an antique quilt, that had circles in the center of the kaleidoscope blocks. Often antique quilts used this trick to cover up centers that were not perfect. Today, we have the Kalido Ruler! This tool helps us percfectly cut out triangles for the blocks.

This quilt is featured on Page 20 of Kalidscope ABC's by Marti Michell. Both the book and ruler are used in class.
